Staying Young Forever

                                                                                               Homemade Anti-Aging Serum:

           
                                                               
1/4 oz Jojoba Oil
1/4 oz Evening Primrose Oil
1/4 oz Pomegranate Oil                                                      
15 drops Vitamin E
20 drops Lavender or Frankincense Oil
10 drops Carrot Seed Oil

Be sure to purchase a dark glass bottle from (Whole Foods or another health food store) to mix the oils in/the dropper bottles are nice so you don't use too much product all at once.

Dr. Axe recommends using every morning and night on your face, neck and chest (shoot add a drop of this magic potion to your favorite body lotion) You want to stay young everywhere right? LoL


*Make sure you are buying high quality brands that are therapeutic grade /organic
(they are a bit more costly but last and are way better! ) This homemade product lasts forever and a drop or two goes a long way! ..plus you can use jojoba in your shampoo/conditioner for added moisture.

* Always do a small patch area test before applying to the skin to check for allergic reactions.

I did not know the importance of looking into the therapeutic grade oils when I first made this serum, so I have a mix of lower and to higher quality oils,  I figure I will use the old and add new/better ones as  I go!

I have had lots of comments on my teeth being so white lately! I use to use the Crest white strips but could only use for maybe two days before experiencing some tooth sensitivity.  I would have to wait a few days to be able to use the strips again to get my teeth to the desired whiteness.

About a month ago I started using the DAVIDS Premium Natural Toothpaste, it comes with a tongue scraper to boot! And I also use SKINNY & Co, Oil Pulling to whiten my teeth.  I swish it around in my mouth while I get ready every morning for work. (about 5-20 minutes is what is suggested on the jar) You just need a little and it goes a long way! It leaves your breathe smelling fresh and it leaves your teeth so shiny!  :D

It was weird at first putting a clump of this stuff in your mouth with a spoon but now it's getting warmer and melted when I go to use it, I just sip a small amount and close up the lid.

 For any of you who LOVE coconut products they sell body butter,  face oil, lip balm and all kinds of neat goodies! This is the first item I have purchased from them but I have used (other) coconut oils to take my make-up off, use as a hair mask and as a body oil (moisturizer).

It definitely works as I have had strangers say stuff about my teeth being WHITE and I have no issues with sensitivity using this product either!

Dry Brushing 101

                                                               Dry Brushing 101 :

I am going to do a 30-day dry brush challenge! I have been dry brushing for a while but have only done it on and off~ I want to commit 5-10 min. each day to brushing for 30 full days to see the maximum benefits!

I just purchased a new brush from Sephora, specifically for dry brushing. I had a different brush before that had a long handle, but for me I don't personally like the handle it makes it hard to maneuver the brush. This small hand held one I love!! (under $20 @ Sephora )

Per the back of the box, you will get smooth skin by using for 5 min. each day! (before showering) The box recommend brushing in the AM, but who has time for that, I need my sleep!

Benefits of Dry Brushing include: bright beautiful exfoliated skin, (unclogging pores), helps diminish the look of cellulite (gets rid of toxins)  and helps aid in better skin product absorption. (your product works better)



How to Begin:

*Get naked!
*Start with your ankles and work your way up.
*Apply the brush in a gentle circular motion.
*Shower when finished to rinse away all the dead skin cells.
*Follow with a great natural moisturizer.


 ( My personal preference is Coconut Oil or if I am in a hurry I use a spray on type oil )

The best time for me to do this is in the evening as then I have the benefit of putting comfy Pj's on and letting the oils soak in all night for maximum benefits!

Skin Issues

For a little over two years I have been dealing with Melasma/ Hyperpigmentation on my face. I have what I call a raccoons mask, on my face. It's patches of dark pigment over my cheeks and nose area on my face.

I have tried a lot of products (PCA Skin, Murad, Obagi, Rodan+Fields, Shiseido and many others  in the attempt to get rid of this skin issue! Not to mention all the microdermabrasion, peels and  photofacials to get my skin to the point where I can at least hide it with make-up.

I have never really been a sun worshiper, my friends will all tell you if I go to the pool I cover my face up like a muslim woman as  not  to let the sun age/damage my face but I think just because I never realized the importance of wearing sunscreen even for the everyday normal routine of life!

                                                    I now slather up EVERY day!!!

Rain or shine I have my Elta MD Skincare, UV Facial  (Broad-Spectrum SPF 30+) Moisturizing Facial Sunscreen on to help protect from further damage/more spots showing up on my face.

It's my personal feeling that time, exfoliation, hydration and protection is the only way to diminish/not get rid of but DIMINISH the appearance of these dark patches of skin. I am not saying any of the products/procedures listed above have not helped lighten but I think I was under the impression I could get rid of them (FOREVER) I hoped anyways! But from what my dermatologist says it's under your skin brought out by heat, sun exposure and hormones. So I have learned to just accept it and try my best to pamper my skin :)

Starting The Day Off Right!



This is my A.M. routine: Every morning for the last month or two I have been taking Healing Protein ( chocolate flavor is my fav! ) Collagen Protein and Leaky Gut Support! This is an easy start to the day, it's literally a quick scoop of everything blended in the Ninja with ice cold water and I run out the door!

This shake keeps me full for a while, I am usually up in the morning by 6am, have my shake by 7am, out the door by 8am and don't get hungry till about 10am. I usually bring healthy snack choices to work to eat  in between meals like fruit, nuts, yogurt or granola!

       I HAVE TO ADMIT I AM A CAFFINE ADDICT...MUST HAVE COFFEE....NOW!!!!

I have to start the am off with a cup of Joe! Just one,  I sweeten it with Stevia and add a splash of almond milk (can't do the black coffee!) LoL This just gives me a nice pep in my step for the long day ahead! xo

CHEATER!

What a way to start off a health & fitness blog  LoL
                                       Nothing better than with a CHEAT day!  :P

I have to say...I do not have a certain type...of food that is! :)
             I love food! I don't discriminate:  Asian, Middle Eastern, Mexican, and Italian to name a few!


I figure you ONLY  Live ONCE! And if you have great food (cheat foods) once a week that is Okay! We earn it through the week by first getting through a busy work week, maintaining everyday life, working-out, and just being plain AWESOME!

The Beginning..


Let me start by just telling you a bit about ME! I am no writer..but I wanted to start a blog about Health/Fitness/Beauty. I am always trying new products! Yes, I am one of those women who has a millions shampoo, conditioner, body wash, face cleaner, lotions and oils! Yes,  the list could go on and on about what I have lined up in my shower and bathroom counter.

Now, all you men know we aren't lying! LoL Some things I love, like or just completely waisted my money on! Money in the trash! :/

The past few years I have become more active, I use to be as skinny as a stick and could EAT what ever the heck I wanted (fast food junkie) As I get older, I have a saying, "I gotta work out to eat!" and that's the darn TRUTH!

I Love food, but can't cook a lick!! That being said I have become best friends with George Foreman (the grill) That man can cook anything! LoL

To make things even easier I meal prep, so lunch and dinner are a breeze! I don't even have to think about it! Voila! Dinner is served. :)

Stress is a bitch! It has a way of aging us faster and making us feel like dog pooh. Working-out for at least 20 minutes a day is a must! I just recently purchased a spin bike from Amazon.com and have been riding my ass off! I first thought of the blog idea honestly when I could not find GREAT spin classes on YouTube, I found a handful I enjoyed and thought, shoot, I think that would be fun to motivate people and just have a blast!

So anyways, I am a rambler...here we go! :)
